The Written Word Group

 The Two R's... I worked out the other day that I have been writing for this Mag for something around 11 years, covering just about every subject under the Sun and  then some. Where have all those years gone? Consequently, pretty much everything I write is 'fact based'. I was intrigued then when, back in January last year, I had the opportunity to join a local Writer's Group, based in Albox, which was just starting up.  This bought together a bunch of people, passionate about writing, some already published and really talented. Writing is largely a solitary activity with few opportunities to talk to other like-minded folk about the subject in order to develop, improve and get inspiration. So much so that for me, I have been able and encouraged to write a whole lot of fiction, since we review and enjoy each other's work when we meet each month.  Just recently and to celebrate our First Birthday, we decided to hold a "Writer's Open-Mic" event for folk to...

 There are some folk in a Writer's group and all are very good Scribbling and composing stuff as all good Writer's should Stories and poems flow from their imagination Some funny, amusing and sad but always with articulation Telling stories of their lives and  journeys both far and near  Some for pleasure, some for work and some because of fear. But wherever we have travelled, we join together in this place To share tales of lives well lived and of the future we all face.

              The Written Word Group Started by: Berni Albrighton  & David Holman-Hill Waters 01/12/2023. Based out of Albox, the group of writers meet up once a month to chat and listen to each other’s written work. Some of the writers are in the process of completing a novel, whilst others have varied projects on the go.  This Blog is used to further the aim of the Written Word Group and showcase the wide ranging talent that exists in this small group. We support writers in creating work, be that poetry, short stories, flash fiction.  We currently have 7 permanent members, The Magnificent Seven, and we are delighted to be celebrating  our one-year anniversary.
