Dances with Words Book Launch Sunny Bookshop Mojacar 24th january


The Almanzora Written Word Group will be launching their Anthology called, Dancing with Words on Saturday 24th January 2026 at 4pm.
Over the course of the evening we will introduce ourselves and have 3 or 4 readings from our Anthology.
We can then take any questions from the packed crowd.
It was a labour of love to get this book out the door. Blood sweat and tears where shed and a few egos too.
But we are all immensely proud of the final result.
So come along and celebrate an evening with The Almanzora Written Word Group.

    This was an outstanding success. A packed house heard readings from the Anthology and heard a short history of the formation of TWWG and how we published this Anthology. At the end of the night, everybody went home happy.

Do you play chess? Do you remember when you learned to play? I do.  I was about fifteen, living with my parents and my sisters sharing the same room in the Hotel Rich. The hotel was well-known by  Chilean refugees in Buenos Aires. The accomodation and food was provided by the Hotel and the U.N paid the costs.  The Hotelier, Pipi provided food for us, but as most businessmen he cut corners to make more profit  in the food and cleanliness. When I think about it now, the food was so bad I wouldn't even feed my dog that food.  Those three long years;  that period of our lives I wouldn't call it living, I'd call it  existing, we felt we were in an Abyss.   Time went  slowly back then, no schooling for my sisters or me and my parents weren't allowed to work.
