What's in a name......... Written by Vic Davey

 So this guy is flying back to the UK from a business meeting in New York. An attractive young woman takes the seat next to him. Anyway, they get chatting and she asks him why he has been visiting NYC. He tells her he is in advertising and he has been there to oversee a new office they are opening. 

He asks her what she does and why she was there too. She says, "I'm a Sex Therapist and have been to our first global conference." 

He is surprised and intrigued and asks if anything really interesting emerged from the discussions.

She says, " Yes, surprising and interesting. The men who are the best endowed are Native American Indians, while the best lovers are Italian. By the way. I'm Jill Adams. And you?"

" Tonto Pavarotti." He replies.........

The Rambla - A walk on the wild side - a short story written by M. E. Heed

I don't know whether it is my body language or when I put my walking-trainers on that Alfie starts running up and down the hallway, sensing we are going for a walk. I open the door for him to go out in the garden but he stays right there next to me, looking at me expectedly, I say: “Good morning Alfie” and he looks at me with that angelic look cocking his head to one side, wagging his bushy tail and lifting his ears gracefully as if to say: “come on let's go for a walk this morning”, but I don't say anything. Then I do the preparations, because with me it's all about following a procedure before we set off for a walk in the Rambla, maybe that's a give away! Do you play chess? Do you remember when you learned to play? I do.  I was about fifteen, living with my parents and my sisters sharing the same room in the Hotel Rich. The hotel was well-known by  Chilean refugees in Buenos Aires. The accomodation and food was provided by the Hotel and the U.N paid the costs.  The Hotelier, Pipi provided food for us, but as most businessmen he cut corners to make more profit  in the food and cleanliness. When I think about it now, the food was so bad I wouldn't even feed my dog that food.  Those three long years;  that period of our lives I wouldn't call it living, I'd call it  existing, we felt we were in an Abyss.   Time went  slowly back then, no schooling for my sisters or me and my parents weren't allowed to work.
